Advanced Classes - October, November & December 2018

Jeans Making for Everyone

September 20th, 27th, October 4th, and 11th

In this Advanced Class, you can choose from the Closet Case Ginger and Morgan Jeans pattern, or the Cashmerette Ames Jeans pattern! Pick the pattern that matches your shape, size, and style. Take your sewing to the next level with precise construction and great fit in a true wardrobe staple, a pair of well-fitting jeans.

“I could make jeans?!”

Yup, you can make jeans! Anybody can make jeans! Choose from one of three patterns to make either stretch jeans (with the Ginger Jeans pattern from Closet Case Patterns and the Ames Jeans pattern from Cashmerette Patterns) or non-stretch jeans (with the Morgan Jeans pattern from Closet Case Patterns) and find out just how easy Jeans really are.

Jeans making is all about the fit. In this class, you’ll learn how to make fit adjustments to your pattern (both before and after cutting your fabric), how to cut your fabric to avoid leg twist, how to sew a fly front, how to make jeans pockets and how to add topstitching and a back pocket design to make your jeans uniquely yours! Once you’ve made one pair, you’ll want to make more!

Do you avoid wearing button down shirts and blouses because you can never find one that fits? Learn how to make your own custom shirt!

In this class, you can choose from three patterns to make either a women’s (the Archer by Grainline Studios, or the Harrison by Cashmerette) or men’s (the Fairfield by Thread Theory) classic button down shirt. All are suitable for a wide range of fabrics from drapey silk to crisp broadcloth or warm flannel.
