Emerson Crossbody Quilted Bag Class (Intermediate - Sewing)

This modern, original crossbody bag pattern is perfect for an intermediate quilter or confident beginner! The Emerson bag is the perfect blend of utility and style! Small enough to wear crossbody, or more traditionally as a belt bag, yet it still offers a surprisingly spacious interior with a handy slip pocket.
This is a three session class. Please make sure you can attend all sessions.
Prerequisites:
- how to thread and use a sewing machine
- how to wind a bobbin
- how to construct simple seams
- be familiar with sewing terminology such as "right sides of fabric together" and "seam allowance"
You will learn:
- How to prepare a quilted piece to cut bag pieces
- Basic bag construction
- How to install zippers
- How to sew a gusseted bag
- How to sew bias binding for a clean interior finish
You will need:
- exterior fabric
- 1 FQ or enough to make a quilted 18" x 22" panel
- 0.5m lining - we recommend quilting cotton
- batting - enough for an 18" x 22" piece
- 2m of bias binding
- 1-1.5m of 1" webbing
- 8" zipper for front pocket
- 12" zipper for main pocket
- or you can use zipper by the yard - you will need two pulls
- 1 parachute buckle
Will be provided:
- copy of the pattern (you can see it here - you do not need to buy it as it is included in the class fee)
- sewing machine to use during class
- any sewing tools or notions needed during class
