Worldwide Knit in Public Day 2024

It's Worldwide Knit in Public Day, and you're invited to join us for an epic celebration of yarn! Rain or shine, we'll be knitting all day with our BFFs (Best Fibre Friends). Bring a chair and a project - it doesn't have to be knitting, but should be portable. We'll have tents set up for shade in our back parking lot.

Just like last year, Alley Cat Yarns will have her sumptuous skeins for sale. Her trunk show will run both weekend days (Saturday and Sunday).And (the most important part), the Merry Dairy will be at the store from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm, handing out ice cream to anyone who makes a purchase of $30 or more. They will also have scoops for sale, so bring the whole family!

When: Saturday, June 8th, 2024 11:00 am - 5:00 pm and Sunday, June 9th, 2024 12:00 - 5:00 pm

Bus Trip To Twist

Yay!! Road Trip!! Join us for a bus trip to the TWIST Fibre Festival in Saint-André-Avellinl, Quebec. Get ready for a cozy journey from Ottawa to a world of vibrant yarns, creative workshops, and endless fibre possibilities. And the best part, have fun with other fibre enthusiasts!

What's included: 

• Round-trip transportation on an air-conditioned bus from Ottawa to the yarn festival venue
• Games, fun, yarn show and tell and a raffle on the bus ride

Important information:

• Date: Saturday, August 10, 2024
• Bus departs from the parking lot at Fabrications Ottawa at 8:00 am (please arrive at 7:45 am)
• Bus arrives at Twist at 9:25am
• Bus departs from Twist at 3:00 pm and will arrive back at Fabrications Ottawa at 4:25 pm
• The bus has a washroom
• Venue has washrooms, food vendors (many only take cash) and ATMs.
• Does not include admission to the festival. You will need to purchase it separately, either online before the festival or at the gate.

Be sure purchase your ticket in advance, as space is limited!
