Hope Woven Dress Class (Advanced Beginner - Sewing)

Learn to sew a versatile, easy fit dress with ⅞ sleeve length. This dress comes with two skirt
length; knee and midi length. It has deep raglan sleeves with an elasticated hem finish and a
loop and button back neck opening. And, of course, pockets. It will become one of your wardrobe staples in no time!
This is a three session class. Please make sure you can attend all sessions.

Prerequisites:
- experience successfully completing several sewing projects; this class will not cover basic sewing machine operation such as threading a needle, switching needles, how to adjust stitch length, locking stitches, reverse stitching, pivoting corners, winding bobbins etc.
- familiarity with using a sewing pattern, measuring oneself and picking a size
You will learn how to:
- Taking correct measurements and picking right size
- Follow a pattern
- Simple fitting adjustments
- Sew neckline with facing
- Sew raglan sleeves with elastic hemband
- Handworked loop and button closure
- Understitching
- Different ways to clean finish neckline facing
You will need:
- tracing paper
- Light to medium weight woven fabric with a soft touch and good drape ( 58” width
from 2.5 to 3 m) - Matching thread
- 1 button size 10mm
- Matching thread
- Lightweight interfacing
We will provide:
- a copy of the pattern
- any sewing tools needed
- a sewing machine to use in class
